Game art exercise in ornamentation and detailing plus texture creation for metals.
I ended up going overboard with the amount of polygons on the low poly to press the detailing, reaching 22 thousand triangles. In the process I used 9 hours on low poly and optimizing various parts, completing the project in 26 hours total, with lots of redesign. Rendered in quixel 3DO.
Inspired by Dante and the Paul Gustave Doré illustrations. The front inscriptions uses Paul Gustave Doré's motifs (I have not created and do not claim ownership over the original imaging) and the flower ornament is based on a design from designfromfile.
